Mark’s only matters -is it so?
We all must have heard some phrases in our student life, like from teachers -” Padhoge likhoge banoge nawab, kheloge kudoge banoge kharab” and from some students-”, one sheet of paper can’t decide my future”.Who is correct than a teacher or student? And should a student be so studious that he forgets his health or he mustn’t be just concerned only with his studies and may avoid doing hard work?
Yes, studies are important if from a few years the identical scenario of sending children to schools and imparting knowledge goes on then there must be a sound reason behind that. Most of the people consider the school as an area where they need to send their children because others in their society also are sending their children there and that they also went there once they were children it means for them that it’s only a custom they need to follow and less than that but actually school is that the place where they get to grasp the very reason of their existence, the reason behind every phenomenon happening around them and most significantly they get to understand about themselves, who they’re, why there, what’s the aim of their life and that they are told what’s right and what’s wrong.
But what if only at that very phase of their growth they’re told, they are “useless”, “losers ”, ”dumb” and the basis of categorizing them like this being Mark’s only. During exams from the whole syllabus of over 1000 pages, the test paper comes off a maximum of 2 pages including few selected questions, and what if questions came from those 10 pages that a student left, should we call him a loser? And will we blame him for not studying hard? In different subjects, there are different preparation methods required but not one subject is there that may be done through rote. Actually, every subject deals with an indispensable and delightful part of our lives that one must understand and not memorize. There’ll be some who will understand everything but won’t be ready to express it properly during examination but actually, they’re truly “educated”,” knowledgeable “ and literate.
These days our Indian education system is concentrated more on Mark’s and grade than anything. But with no doubt, all co-curricular activities are important.
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”
Activities like dancing, singing, playing, yoga and drawing are must in a very school but the tough reality is even when having a dance period, music period, drawing period and games period there are many students who get rid of their books and that they only study sitting there. It's not their mistake but they’re all feared and tensed about their studies because they’re told about the repercussions they’ll face if they’re going to not study.
Many students become anxious, depressed, tensed and in some severe cases they begin popping up and alcohol to flee from that mental trauma. There are some who feel lonely thanks to lacking friends and people even commit suicide, following graph shows the children of scholars facing depression, loneliness, and committing suicide.
At least one student dies of suicide every hour in India and overall some 10,159 students took their lives within the country in 2018.
The government of India is realizing that require of the hour is to push the mental and physical wellness of scholars by encouraging co-curricular activities in schools and appreciating the scholars as they know that,” health is wealth “
- To address the large burden of mental disorders and the absence of qualified professionals within the field of mental state, the Government of India has been implementing the National mental state Program (NMHP) since 1982. The district mental state Program was added to the Program in 1996.
- CBSE also provides some contact numbers to students, for contacting some motivating teachers and feeling light.
But the condition isn’t much changed, as students are very sensitive and that they get molded the way they’ve treated this rule that “toppers are king et al are slaves ”ruins their life and want to be far from the scholars lives else it’ll continue killing our country’s painters, dancers, sportsmen, musicians, actors, and other brilliant entrepreneurs. As a parent, they must support their children and will not force them to urge good grades always. Also, we should always try and ask students who are feeling lonely and will attempt to solve their problems. As a student we want to grasp that it’s fine to fail but not it’s fine to not try again and also every student is one in every sort gifted with unique abilities and each student is supposed to make history!!!.
