LACK OF LIBRARY IN SCHOOL

Books are the treasury of information and astuteness. It is in this manner, extremely basic, for youth, old, kids and understudies, to understand books and improve the information.

Book perusing is perhaps the best diversion of the world. It has wide significance and plenty of advantages in one’s day-to-day existence. It takes you to a different universe.

Book perusing is the best venture of time. One can appreciate a lot by perusing books of his choice. Books are the most ideal approach to acquire significant information. Books refine our way of living and thus providing better standards of living.

The library is heaven for book readers. But in India, there is no easy access to this place as they are very less in number. Even in schools where the library is a necessity library is not present in most of them. Mainly in government primary schools library is not present and seen as a secondary thing by many school principals and not as the primary. They are thought of as additional costs in the school infrastructure, even in the private schools in which they are present students usually are allowed to go there and study, and neither these books lend books to students. The secondary reason for no library in school is the lack of space in school and the huge cost of acquiring and purchase of new books. Even regular maintenance cost of library leaden for many schools who can’t afford that much. In many libraries, there is no proper stock of books or there might not be enough books to explore or maybe both. Even to some extent school libraries have not kept pace with that of changing technological aspects as are no updates in how people conceive library as an old and dusted pile of books but it’s time to change it with time i.e. corporate in them in digital form.

The lack of libraries especially in government schools has built a wall of difficulty for students to explore the vast arenas of knowledge. As students of government school generally belong to poor family background and they are not able to purchase books on such a scale to expand up their knowledge, as a result, they have to restrict up their knowledge up to their course books. Even Public libraries in the cities and villages are either not there or even if they are present they did nothing to help the students of these schools.

The government should take necessary steps in this direction, as books and libraries are the essential contributors towards creating a strong base of knowledge. The per school expenditure on infrastructure and given up by the government for government school should be augmented as well as the private players should lend up to their hands in contribution. Shashi Dream foundation is one such organization which has been regularly putting up their efforts to educate those unprivileged students who do not have any access to library or books but they have been trying to provide them. Even public libraries set up by the government should take up steps in improving the conditions of school libraries. it should be made mandatory for all schools to have libraries and have proper access to students .this is the only way in which a nation could develop and compete with world leaders. As education is the only tool that can make better human resources thus making the nation’s faith and condition better off.
