Digital Transformation: Difficulty in attending Online Classes, A true picture of Rural Area
COVID-19 has made various changes globally, it has affected many people’s life and for many months everyone was confined to the safety of their homes in a bid to be safe during this time of the pandemic. Everyone believed that, it was the end and, without any direct contact we can’t do anything. The time has changed and the beliefs also, because people have made up their minds and are ready to fight the pandemic and look for various ways to continue day to day activities. This all has pointed out to the use of digital media and the people have taken up this opportunity. Today none of us can live without the internet system because all our activities are linked with it. Everywhere, we can see the work from home model in practice today and people are adjusting to this transformation. This was the successful transformation to e- learning and digital transformation. However people/children who are from rural areas are not familiar with it and they are facing challenges.
Digital Transformation in Rural Area
E-Learning has been accepted by the world. Globally, every country even if it is developed or developing has stood up with digital transformation. People from urban areas can easily access the internet system and they are not facing challenges while using internet system as compared to the people in rural areas. Many factors are contributing to the issues that faced by the people in rural area while dealing with e-learning.
Non Familiarity
People from rural area don’t know how to use the internet, these people can be the parents of the children and the children as well. Only few of them are able to access to the digital media and because of this the children are not able to attend classes.
Lack of Access to Smart phone/Desktop
Families of children are unable to buy smart phones and desktops for their children; even if they are willing to buy their financial position is not allowing them to do so. In most families, there is only one smartphone which makes the process of taking classes online extremely cumbersome.
Network Issues
In remote areas the problems of network issue is very high, many of the houses are not having electricity, In this case e-learning is not succeeding in those areas .
Conclusion
Covid-19 has put a block on classroom learning sessions and in turn led to a new way for the online learning or e -learning. This has made the greatest impact globally because we can learn and use this e -learning system for many purposes, it be extremely advantageous in the future as well. However, there are many who can’t access the internet system because of lacking resources.
