Digital Learning
Covid 19 and Digital Learning
Covid-19 hit hard on the traditional education aspect. Education is the key to having a better standard of living. Everything is digitalized, and there is a need to digitalize the classroom as well to provide education to one and all at their convenience. A classroom that is fully immersed in technology is called a digital classroom — a classroom that makes the distance between student and teacher almost invisible. Education is the fundamental right of everyone, and everyone should receive their rights. Digital classrooms are the breakthrough in this process.
Need for Digital Learning
This generation is a part of a revolutionary world, where technology plays a significant role in everyone’s life. Today everyone is bounded to technology, and technology is the future. Learning through technology is preparing the students for the real world. Technology is enhancing the creativity and curiosity among the students. Digital classrooms are providing teachers with the power to teach the students effectively, and making the learning more interactive and fun. Students are able to grasp quickly the concepts which are being introduced to them using 3D animated videos. Digital classrooms have enabled students to visualize difficult concepts with ease.
Digital learning will help students to become proficient with the technology, improves communication with the teachers and their peers, and it will help to strengthen the interdependency through collaboration with their peers. Digital classrooms could bring transformation among the students. Digital classrooms will create a more engaging environment which, would help students to develop the requisite skills. Digital classrooms would improve collaboration, prepare children for the future by helping them to learn about MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel, incorporating different learning styles.
Pros and Cons of Digital Learning
Digital classrooms offer both advantages and disadvantages. Digital classrooms are not easy to implement, it requires a lot of planning and, a high amount of money is involved. Network and connection are a major issue that still persists in India. Lack of connectivity in the areas of rural and even slum areas of urban areas are the barriers among the students of these areas to attain education.
Families of low income are unable to make their children go to school as they can’t afford the expenditure that needs to be done on education. The Digital classroom has helped these children to attain quality education by not having any school fees, uniform fees, lunch packs, no stationaries fees, no textbook fees, and many more.
