Career in Physiotherapy:
Physiotherapy is also commonly known as Physical therapy. It is a health profession that focuses on aiding individuals with chronic pains, difficulty in movement or mobility. Physiotherapy is one of the allied health professions that makes use of evidence-based kinesiology, , health education, mobilization, electrical and physical agents, exercise prescription , treat acute or chronic pain, movement and physical impairments resulting from injury, trauma or illness typically of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological and endocrinology origins.. It uses different methods to understand the ailment of the individual concerned to treat the issue with different prescriptions of physical exercises for a specified time period along with the much required medication. Physical therapy is employed to enhance a patient’s physical functions through physical examination, diagnosis, prognosis, patient education, physical intervention, rehabilitation, disease prevention, and health promotion.
In our 23rd career counselling session, we had the honour of having Dr. Anupriya. She did her Bachelors in Physiotherapy from the University of Delhi. She pursued her masters from Indian Spinal Injuries Center, specializing in Orthopedics. She has more than 3 years of experience and has worked with leading healthcare facilities, such as BLK Super Specialty Hospital and Indian Spinal Injuries Center, New Delhi. We had the great privilege to invite her to educate students about Career in Physiotherapy. She enlightened the students with the knowledge of Physiotherapy.

Eligibility Criteria:
To pursue Bachelors in Physiotherapy (BPT)
● The candidate should pass 10 + 2, or similar exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Minimum 50 percent marks should in attained in these subjects.
● The minimum age of the individual is expected to be 17 years.
● A few Indian universities resort for an entrance exam to admit students for the BPT course. Some of these universities are CET, JIPMER, GGSIPU, NIRTAR and University of Delhi. Information regarding these universities and their entrance exams are available on the official websites.
To pursue Masters in Physiotherapy (MPT)
● Individuals who want to take up masters need to be qualified in BPT from a UGC recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50% marks.
● An internship of 6 months in the same field is also a requirement.
