Career in Physics
Physics involves the study of force, motion and energy, which is one of the most fundamental and basic sciences. Being one of the most fundamental aspects of the science, provides a number of career opportunities for the students not only in engineering but in other fields also such as nuclear physics, meteorology, astronomy etc., as it also involves the study of universe behaviour. Here a student mainly deals with the study of atomic and molecular physics, thermal physics, statistical physics and many more subjects from which they can choose their area of interest for research. Very strong logical- reasoning skills, problem-solving capability and a methodical approach would form a strong base thus making them an inventive thinker which would help them in building a career in the field of Journalism, Law, Finance, Medicine etc. other than engineering.
EXPERT’S GUIDE:
Dr. Prerna Sharma, Assistant Professor at IISC Bangalore. She has done BSc. in Physics (Hons) at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and her Master’s and Ph.D. in Physics from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (2011) and her post-doctoral fellow at Brandeis University (2014). She is a dedicated teacher who always motivates her students to explore and learn new things. She is a teacher who students can approach easily and clarify their doubts. She shaped many students, helped them in their academics and in personality development. Her flow research intrigues lie in the regions of Soft Matter Physics and Biophysics.
