Being a Lawyer is very respectable and lucrative career. In India, law is known as one of the most highly recommended career option for students. Its dimensions are not only limited to Courts but many law firms, corporate houses, administrative and judicial organizations are open to give opportunities to Lawyers in a well-paid manner. This career option is great for males as well as females too. This career is a must for girls as whenever they get unsecured due to male-dominated society for their rights, the knowledge of the constitution saves them. If anyone wants to know and protect his as well as other’s rights then there is nothing better than making a career in law. Layers are known to stand for justice and save society from crime and cruelty.

Expert’s Guide

On 23 August 2020 Shashi Dream Foundation was honored to have a live session with Shri. Vinam Gupta, as our guest speaker for a career counselling session on “ Career in Law”. The counselling session was live-streamed on social media platforms and many viewers joined. It was a qualitative interactive session where he shared various experiences of his journey, also happily answered all the questions in a detailed analysis.

SHRI VINAM GUPTA

SHRI VINAM GUPTA is an ADVOCATE ON RECORD, IN THE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA. He pursued B.A. LL.B (Hons.) from the University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIPU in Delhi. He did a Master’s in Business Law from NLSIU, Bangalore. He joined the Litigation team of Khaitan & Co. in August 2012 after graduating from GGSIPU and is one of the founding partners at The Guild, Advocates & Associate Counsel. He engaged with different commercial disputes: International and Domestic Arbitration, Civil Suits, Economic Offence, Medical Negligence, and Related advisories, during his tenure at Khaitan &Co.

The session begins with a discussion of his career journey, various obstacles, good experiences, and more. After the work insight of 6 years, he began working autonomously and established his firm: The Guild. He informed about the skills that a fresher should have for a successful career. Later, he talked about the things that he likes as a lawyer. He said, “As a lawyer, one knows more about the law and how things work in the Society. This gives you an edge over other professions and I like the superiority of that knowledge.” He also talked about the different fields that one can pursue after his graduation such as disputes, arbitration, and all. He interacted with the viewers and answered their questions on dealing with the demanding nature of his work. “If your preparation is good, then you can deal with the pressure.” he said.
