Ms. HEETA LAKHANI shared the live platform with us on 27th May 2020. Presently, She is the FOCAL POINT from the global south YOUTH CONSTITUENCY of the UNFCCC. She has done her Masters in Environmental Studies and Resource Management. She has been a part of many UNFCCC negotiations since COP21, Paris in 2015.
The session began with the discussion about her career journey. She shared an incidence that was a turning point in her life that made her move to this field. In the session she also guided everyone about the real passion required to come in this field and also named various courses that one can pursue. She also named some top colleges where one can pursue environmental sciences like JNU, Fergusson University in Pune, DU and more. To the fee structure she says, it varies from college to college but the average is 20,000–3 lakhs. People who are interested in research should definitely go for Ph.D. She advised everyone, to differentiate the need or want of the product before buying it; this would discourage you from buying unwanted items. She introduced us with major environmental issues prevailing these days. We learned a lot about environment in this session.
