A nutritionist is a person who is specialized in planning the diet or special meals for patients as well as the normal healthy person. Nutritionists help patients in different cases. They plan the meal according to the needs of the patients. Some patients have special needs such as allergies, health problems, or a desire for increased energy or weight change devise healthy diets. They are well-trained and hold a degree for holding the same.

In July 2020, Shashi Dream Foundation was privileged to have Ms. Bhawna Sachan as a guest speaker on our career counseling session. The career counseling session happened on both the social media handles. Ms. Bhawna Sachan has experience of 11 years in this field. She is running four clinics in Delhi and NCR. She has completed B.Sc from PPL College, Kanpur and did M.Sc in Food Science and Nutrition from IGNOU in 2010.She is member of Indian Dietetic Association.
Ms. Sachan shared her views and experiences with the students and enlightened them with her knowledge and expertise in this field.

Eligibility criteria:
Aspirants can pursue Nutrition courses at the Undergraduate Level (UG) as well as Postgraduate level (PG). Nutrition Courses offered at the UG level are mostly of three years duration. Nutrition Courses offered at the PG level are also of 2 years duration.
Eligibility Criteria for admission to B.Sc Nutrition and Dietetics courses are discussed below:
1) An aspirant must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects.
2) Some colleges and universities also accept any one of Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry in place of Biology at the 10+2 level.
3) The aspirants should complete 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks, but some very good colleges also demand a higher percentage.
4) There are different types of age restrictions followed by different colleges. Some grant admission only to those students who passed 10+2 within the last two academic years, while some colleges grant admission up to 25 years of age.
5) For confirming the eligibility criteria of an individual college, the candidate should check the respective college website.
