Career as Archaeologist

Archaeology is a multi-disciplinary field. It is the study of past human life. It includes analysis, interpretation, and theorizing of past human events through recovery and discovery of objects (artifacts, texts, bones) and places (houses, temples, palaces). Archaeology investigates what might have been. Archaeology is a half-science that is multi-disciplinary in nature and involves the participation of many fields of study — psychology, sociology, biology, anthropology, mathematics, history, etc.

If one has an interest in history and wants to make a career in archaeology, this article will help you start planning for a career in archaeology. The guidance provided in this article was shared by Padma Shri K. K Muhammed in a live session conducted by the Shashi Dream Foundation on “Career as an Archaeologist”, under their initiative to provide career guidance to underprivileged children.
