Journey of Shashi Dream Foundation: Founder and the Achievements
“Opportunities don’t happen, you create them” a beautiful quote by Chris Grosser sets out the stage for having dreams that needs to be believed to get accomplished. An individual’s dream reaches its accomplishment stage when the right opportunities are provided to them with the needful sources. Things taken step by step with strong base will definitely give fruitful results and happiness. Believe and put in the key to start, the things desired will start falling in place with the right amount of precision and victory. This is exactly what the Shashi Dream Foundation is with its founder’s initiative.
Founder and his Journey: Birth of Shashi Dream Foundation
Shashi Dream Foundation is the initiation by Shri. Harshal Dhoke. The spark of starting such an organization was laid down with his years of dedication and hard-work. He is an alumni of IIT Varanasi and IIM, Rohtak.
Starting his journey from a small town in Katol, Nagpur, Maharashtra this concept of Shashi Dream Foundation was a dedication towards his mother and to help in the upliftment of the country. His thoughts were invoked on this idea by his house help who happened to mention how their kids would remain uneducated and never be able to lead a progressed life. That thought assured Mr. Harshal to start this NGO to educate the underprivileged children. He chose the name Shashi Dream Foundation naming it on his mother since he believed the bond should be very strong and his bond with his mother is very strong and thus the name. He started off with the principle “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can” and started to provide education to the underprivileged children in his own place. The core belief put in the words of Mr. Harshal’s are “Every child should get the basic amenities of life, and one of them is Education.”
Shri. Harshal Dhoke stands as the recipient of several awards and recognitions both personal as well as achievements for the Organization. Some of his achievements include being the Best Educational speaker in 2018 and Social Service Award in 2018. The hard work and dedication of the founder along with his team of people has helped in the growth of the Shashi Dream Foundation. The journey started off in 2018 with one center in Katol for the children. In 2019 The NGO was able to set up another center in Sawargaon Tehsil, Narkhed, Maharashtra. The NGO achieved to establish the Shashi Paathashala for the students so that they get the access to the necessary skills that they need to be trained in. The NGO is involved in various programmes such as book distribution drives, educating underprivileged children, quiz and art competitions and grocery distribution.
Achievements
Achievements and failure are considered to be the biggest motivators of one’s life to do things better. Adding achievements to one’s lists motivates further for a positive growth. Shashi Dream Foundation was featured in the Punyanagri Newspaper, Nagpur edition for the work that it focuses on. In 2018, the founder received the Social Service Award and in 2019 the efforts of the Foundation saw fruit in achieving the Social Achievement award along with the founder being presented with the title of Real Hero of Society. In the year 2020 he was also presented with the Swami Vivekanda national Youth Award from the state of Maharashtra. The Shashi Dream Foundation was also honoured with the recognition of being a Community Partner for the Online Business Plan Tournament, 2020 by Skill Key.
The foundation has been constantly working during the times of Covid-19 pandemic. The foundation has been providing food kits for the needful people during such times as part of its Distribution Drive. During this time the Foundation also collaborated with the Covid Art Relief an initiative by the IIM Kozhikode graduates of 2018–2020, selling the art works to help in the covid situation. The founder Mr. Harshal Dhoke was recognized with the ‘100 Most Impactful Corona Warrior Awards’ on 10th November, 2020.
The Foundation apart from providing education has also tried to reach out to women care and hygiene. For this the umbrella under which this is started is named Shashi Care and the foundation was successful in providing sanitary napkins to the women of the area. Another added feather to the Foundation is its career counselling sessions which has successfully completed fourteen phases bringing in prominent speakers from various backgrounds such as commerce, petroleum engineering, art field etc.
“I determined never to stop until I had come to the end and achieved my purpose.”- a beautiful quote by David Livingstone puts forward the positive attitude that the Shashi Dream Foundation is holding to and that attitude is determination. The foundation looks forward to working its way to reach its goal of giving education to as many children who requires it. Along with that the determination to provide the basic necessities for the students, women etc. are all in their future prospects. Education being the root of the Foundation, it is in now in the work to establish the digital Shashi Paathashala through its fundraising, so that the underprivileged children never miss the opportunities and gain education in all possible ways to build better lives.
